MEN'S GOLF FINISHES SECOND AT THE FRANKLIN PIERCE INVITATIONAL
JAFFREY, NH, April 30, 2008 - Elms College senior Neil Daigneault (Ludlow, MA) and sophomore Ben Kwiatkowski (Chicopee, MA) each recorded top five finishes to help lead the Blazers to a runner-up finish in the Franklin Pierce Invitational at The Shattuck on Wednesday afternoon.
Host Franklin Pierce turned in a team score of 348 to finish 11-strokes ahead of second-place Elms College (359). Worcester State College took third (362), while Green Mountain College placed fourth (470).
Daigneault placed fourth with a round of 10-over 81 and Kwiatkowski followed in fifth with his round of 87 on a cold and blustery day that made for difficult scoring conditions.
For the second-straight year, a Worcester State golfer took the Franklin Pierce Invitational individual title as freshman Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) carded a three-over-par round of 74 under blustery and cold conditions on The Shattuck.
Junior Corey Dunn (Port Jefferson, NY) led Franklin Pierce to the team title with a round of 78 to finish second overall. Senior Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, MA) rounded out his four-year career with an 80 for a third-place finish.
Elms College is scheduled to conclude its 2008 spring season on Friday, May 2 at Rhode Island College. Tee times are set for 12:00 p.m.
