NASHUA, NH, Feb. 12, 2009 - Elms College junior forward Javon Mathis (West Hartford, CT) and junior guard Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA) netted 16 points apiece and 14 different players scored to help send the 12th-ranked Blazers to a 95-72 win at Daniel Webster in Thursday night's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball game at the Vagge Gymnasium.

Elms College won its 10th straight game to improve to 20-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the NECC. Thursday night's win also marked the program's fifth consecutive 20-win season.

Daniel Webster fell to 12-8 overall, 6-4 NECC.

The host Eagles jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead on jumpers from sophomore guard Steve Savage (Salem, NH), senior guard Tim Jackson (West Henrietta, NY) and another bucket by Savage, but Elms College would answer with a 7-0 run, capped off by a Mathis layup to take its first lead.

With the game tied at 13-13 and 12:54 remaining in the half, Galdon buried a 3-pointer to ignite an 11-0 and the Blazers never trailed the rest of the night.

Elms College connected for 47.5-percent shooting (19 of 40) in the first half to race out to a 51-32 lead at intermission.

Senior forward Antoine Holder (Hartford, CT) produced the game's only double-double as he registered 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in just 15 minutes of action off the bench, while sophomore guard Dan Gonzalez (East Windsor, CT) added 10 points in 12 minutes as the fourth player to reach double figures for the Blazers.

Elms College's depth once again proved too much, as the Blazers' bench players outscored the Eagles' subs 66-29.

The Blazers return to NECC play on Saturday, February 14 at Newbury College. Tip-off is 12:00 p.m.
