Men's Basketball Rolls To 10th Straight Win

CHESTNUT HILL, MA, Feb. 23, 2008 - Freshman guard Dan Gonzalez (East Windsor, CT) knocked down five 3-pointers on his way to a collegiate career-high 23 points in only 18 minutes of play to help lead Elms College to a 101-62 win over Wheelock College in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's basketball game at Chestnut Hill.

Elms College (19-6 overall, 11-2 NAC) posted its 10th straight win as it awaits its pairing in this week's NAC Tournament. Wheelock concludes its inaugural season of men's basketball with a record of 1-24, 0-13 NAC.

The Blazers dominated all facets of the game as they hit 13 3 pointers, outrebounded Wheelock 49-31, and forced 31 Wildcat turnovers.

The game was well-in-hand by halftime for the Blazers, as they took a 56-34 lead at intermission.

Gonzalez was joined in double-figures by junior forward Joe Esile (Milford, CT) with 12 points and freshman forward Sam Batista (Carolina, PR), who added a season-high 11 points.

Sophomore forward Sherard Robbins (Malden, MA) had 24 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals to lead the Wildcats.
