Galdon Named NAC Player Of The Week

GALDON NAMED NORTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CHICOPEE, MA, Feb. 18, 2008 - Elms College sophomore point guard Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA) was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, February 18.

Galdon averaged 19.0 points to help lead the Blazers extend their win streak to eight straight games with three conference road victories last week at Lesley, Castleton and Johnson State. In the win over Johnson State, Galdon netted a game-high 29 points that included a perfect 10 for 10 effort at the free throw line. For the week, Galdon shot nearly 50.0-percent from the field including 6 of 13 from the 3-point range.

Galdon, who also earned the NAC's top weekly honor December 10 and February 4, enters this week as the conference's third-leading scorer with 20.0 points per game, and is second in 3-point field goal percentage (46.8) and fifth in steals (2.13).

For the season, Galdon has reached double figures in 22 of the Blazers' 23 games, including nine 20-plus-point performances. In an overtime loss at Colby on December 1, Galdon poured in a collegiate career-high 36 points.
