Men's Basketball Flies By Fisher In Colby Invitational Consolation, 86-64
MEN'S BASKETBALL FLIES BY FISHER IN COLBY INVITATIONAL
FARMINGTON, ME, Dec. 2, 2007 - Elms College
sophomore point guard Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA)
had 19 points and four assists to earn All-Tournament team honors
to lead the Blazers to an 86-64 non-conference men's basketball win
over Fisher College in the consolation game of the Colby College
Invitational on Sunday.
With the win, Elms College (5-1) matched its best-ever start
through six games and also gave seventh-year head coach Ed
Silva his 100th collegiate career coaching victory.
All 100 wins have come at Elms College.
The Blazers, who led 34-28 at halftime, scored 52 points in the
second half to pull away.
Senior forward Nate Hawes (New Hope, MN) added 14
points, while junior guard Aswad Thomas (Hartford,
CT) and junior forward Joe Esile (Milford,
CT) each had 11 points. Thomas also finished with
team-highs of seven rebounds and seven assists.
Fisher (1-8) received 19 points and 10 rebounds from
Stephen Rice (Roxbury, MA). Louis Williams
(Burlington, VT), who made the All-Tournament team, added
16 points and eight rebounds.
Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Southern Vermont on Thursday, December 6. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
