CHICOPEE, MA, Jan. 9, 2007 - Elms College junior forward Renato Lindmets (Springfield, MA) recorded a game-high 22 points and the Blazers had five players reach double figures en route to a convincing 109-73 win over Lesley University in Tuesday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's basketball game at the Maguire Center.

With the win, Elms College improved to 6-5 overall, 2-1 NAC. Lesley fell to 6-7 overall, 3-3 NAC.

Junior forward Nate Hawes (New Hope, MN) registered the game's lone double-double with a season-high 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Blazers, who shot 63-percent (21 of 33) in the victory.

The Blazers roared out to a 57-29 halftime lead behind a sizzling 63-percent shooting effort from the field.

Lindmets, Hawes and junior guard Randy Hite (Hartford, CT) all reached double figures before intermission. The three combined for 36 of the Blazers 57 first half points.

Elms College converted 12 Lesley miscues in the opening half into an 18-0 advantage in points off turnovers.

After Lesley senior guard Stanley Chamblain (Everett, MA) drained a 3-pointer for the game's first points, the Blazers responded with a 17-2 run over the next five minutes to take a lead they would never relinquish.

Freshman forward Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA) had 13 points, Hite finished with 14 points, senior guard Justin Davis scored 14 points and senior point guard John Ancrum (Harlem, NY) dished out 11 assists in just 26 minutes.

Lesley had three players reach double figures, led by junior guard Joe Chatman's (Boston, MA) 16-point effort.

Elms College returns to NAC play when it hosts the University of Maine-Farmington on Friday, January 12. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
