Men's Basketball Surges Past Johnson State, 88-75

MEN'S BASKETBALL SURGES PAST JOHNSON STATE, 88-75

JOHNSON, VT, Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 - Elms College senior guard David Williams (Hartford, CT) scored a team-high 20 points and five players reached double figures en route to a come-from-behind 88-75 win over Johnson State in Friday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's basketball game in Johnson Vermont.

With the win, Elms College improves to 17-7 overall, 12-2 NAC, while Johnson State falls to 4-20 overall, 1-13 NAC.

The Badgers jumped out to an early 23-6 lead behind senior guard Tim Santarcangelo (Bennington, VT) who registered a game-high and career best 33 points on 7 of 14 shooting from three point range.

Trailing 42-37 at halftime, the Blazers were able to force 25 turnovers and pull down 20 offensive rebounds to spark the comeback.

Freshman guard Juan Galdon (Holyoke, MA) added 17 points, while junior guard Randy Hite (Hartford, CT) netted 11 points for the Blazers in the win. 

Senior forward Bill Beauregard (Ware, MA) and sophomore forward Malakie Berry (Enfield, CT) contributed 10 points apiece.

Badgers junior guard Charlie Viana (Valley Stream, NY) tallied 12 points in the loss for the Badgers.

The Blazers conclude regular season play on Saturday, February 17, when they travel to Castleton for a North Atlantic Conference game. Tip-off is 1:00 p.m.
