BANGOR, ME, Dec. 8, 2006 - Elms College junior forward Renato Lindmets (Springfield, MA) netted a team-high 17 points and senior point guard John Ancrum (Harlem, NY) became the fourth player in program-history to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau, but host Husson rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to post an 85-76 win over the Blazers in Friday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's basketball game at Bangor, Maine.

Husson (5-1, 3-0 NAC) remained unbeaten in-conference as it won the rematch of last year's NAC Tournament semifinal. Elms College fell to 3-4, 0-1 NAC.

Ancrum, who entered the game with 997 career points, dropped in a pair of free throws 3:30 into the game, then broke the 1,000-point mark on a 3-pointer with 5:08 remaining in the first half.

Ancrum joined former teammate Kyle Seyboth (1,175), Damien Bradley (1,158) and Heath Churchill (1,008) as the other players to surpass 1,000 career points in the program's nine-year history.

The Eagles, who had four players reach double figures, trailed 38-35 at intermission then shot a sizzling 70.8-percent (17 of 24) from the field in the second half to earn the victory.

Three other Blazers reached double figures in the loss, including junior forward Nate Hawes (New Hope, MN), who recorded the game's only double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Elms College returns to NAC play on Saturday, December 9 at Maine Maritime Academy. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
