MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS AT BRANDEIS, 74-59

WALTHAM, MA, Dec. 4, 2006 - Elms College senior guard David Williams (Hartford, CT) dropped in a team-high 15 points, but Brandeis University junior forward Steve DeLuca (Merrimack, NH) tallied a game-high 18 points to help pace the host Judges to a 74-59 win over the Blazers in Monday night's non-conference men's basketball game at Red Auerbach Arena.

Elms College lost for the third time in its last four games and fell to 3-3. Brandeis is off to its best start in 34 years as it remained unbeaten at 8-0.

Brandeis (8-0) trailed by one point a couple of times early, but 9-0 run midway through the first half turned a 10-9 deficit into an 18-10 lead that the Judges never relinquished.

Junior forward Renato Lindmets (Springfield, MA) added 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Blazers, who trailed 29-22 at intermission.

The Blazers had five blocked shots in the contest, including three by freshman forward Austin Sylvia (Seekonk, MA).

Elms College opens up its North Atlantic Conference (NAC) slate at Husson College on Friday, December 8.
