Baseball Falls To Becker In NECC Championship First Round

BENNINGTON, VT, May 1, 2009 - No. 2 Elms College fell 10-1 to third-seeded Becker in Friday's first round of the double-elimination New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament hosted by Southern Vermont College.

The Blazers (16-18) now move into Saturday's elimination game to face fourth-seeded Mitchell (10-20), which lost to top-seeded Southern Vermont, 11-10. The host Mountaineers rallied from a 10-8 deficit with a three-run ninth inning to secure the victory. Saturday's elmination game is set for 10:00 a.m.

Southern Vermont (12-24) and Becker (15-14-1) The four-team, double-elimination championship round will be hosted by Southern Vermont on Friday, May 1 - Sunday, May 3.
