ELMS COLLEGE ATHLETICS RAISES $2,800 FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

CHICOPEE, MA, Feb. 2, 2009 - As part of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Student Athlete Advisory Committee's (SAAC) efforts to promote breast cancer awareness, Elms College's athletic department raised $2,800 during its recent "Pink Out" Day on Saturday, January 31.

Elms College's student athletes and athletic department staff sold 350 of the NECC's "Pink Out" t-shirts. In addition to those sales, Elms College raised another $900 in personal donations.

"I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for making our 'Pink Out' Day such a huge success," Elms College Director of Athletics Louise McCleary said.

All proceeds from Saturday's "Pink Out" will now be forwarded by Elms College to the NECC office. From there, the NECC will donate all funds raised by each of the conference's nine member institutions toward breast cancer research.
