Athletics Announces Hall Of Fame Class Of 2007 Inductees

ELMS COLLEGE ANNOUNCES ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2007 INDUCTEES

CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 21, 2007 - Angel Esposito Chaffee '95 and Emily Halkett Bourgeois ‘90 were inducted into the Elms College's Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2007 on Friday, September 21. 

The two were formally inducted as part of the kickoff to Elms College's Homecoming weekend.

"It was an honor and pleasure to induct Angel and Emily into our Athletic Hall of Fame," Elms College Director of Athletics Louise McCleary said. "During their careers, both women were outstanding student athletes who positively impacted their respective teams and our athletic programs.  I look forward to inducting more women and men of Angel and Emily's caliber into our Athletic Hall of Fame in the years to come."

Esposito Chaffee was a four-year member of both the women's basketball and women's soccer programs. She graduated in 1995 as the basketball program's second all-time scoring leader with 1,516 points in 89 career games.

Halkett Bourgeois was a four-year member of the field hockey team and holds the team's all-time scoring record. She is the only player in the program's 26-year history to score 50 or more goals and register 100 career points.

Esposito Chaffee and Halkett Bourgeois join former Elms College Director of Athletics Susan Langlois (2000), Patricia McGrath '74 (2001), Guerdline Curran '57 (2001), Elms College's 1989 field hockey team (2002), Nancy Gleason ‘89, Kristin Hughes ‘91, Linda Kieras ‘96 and Bishop Emeritus Joseph Maguire as the school's other inductees.
