NASHUA, NH – The Elms College men’s
and women’s cross country teams competed at the Eagle
Invitational, hosted by Daniel Webster on Friday afternoon. The
women finished fifth out of eight teams while the men did not
register a team score.
New Hampshire Tech’s Paticia Pruiksma
earned the top individual women’s honor, finishing in a time
of 23:08 while three of her four scoring teammates placed in the
top 20 to help the squad earn top team honors in Friday’s
5-kilometer competition.
Elms College junior runner Alycia Dabrowski (Chicopee,
MA) was the top individual performer for the women,
placing eighth overall with a time of 24:43.
Senior Amanda Koch (Williston, VT) finished 16th
overall, running the course in 26:37, while sophomore
Chantal Wakefield (East Longmeadow, MA) turned in
a solid time of 28:20 on the day.
On the men’s side, Mitchell’s John Hoffman
(Bala Cynwyd, PA) earned top honors, running the
8-kilometer course in 29:41 to help propel the Mariners to a team
victory with a score of 46. All five of Mitchell’s scoring
runners finished in the top 20.
For the Blazers, the men did not record a team score. Freshman
Brendan Warren (Arlington, MA) was the top
finisher with a time of 38:55.
Both cross country teams return to the trails on Saturday, Sept.
26 when they host the Blazer Invitational. The women’s race
will start at 10:00 a.m. with the men’s run to begin at 11:00
a.m. at Chicopee Memorial State Park.
