WILLIAMSTON, MA – Elms College junior
Alycia Dabrowski (Chicopee, MA) and sophomore
Ben Kronlund (Longmeadow, MA) were the top overall
finishers for the Blazers at the 2009 Eastern College Athletic
Conference (ECAC) Championships hosted by Williams College on
Saturday.
Middlebury College women's cross country team and now five-time
ECAC Champion Williams College men's cross country team, were
crowned ECAC Division III cross country champions. Middlebury
finished with 37 points and Williams finished with 85 points.
Johanna Spangler of Vassar won first place honors
with a time of 22:51 on the 6K course. Middlebury's Sarah
Lange ran a time of 22:55 to place second, followed by
third place finisher, Steph Moroney of Middlebury with a time of
23:11.
Greg Redfield of Johnson and Wales was the
individual champion of the 8K course with a time of 26:11. St.
Vincent's Kevin Wanichko placed second with a time
of 26:40, while Doug Brecher of Bates recorded a
time of 26:48 to come in third.
For the Blazers, Dabrowski clocked a time of 27:50, while Kronlund
finished the 8K course in 37:00.
Neither Elms team recorded a team score as Saturday's race
concluded the 2009 season for the Blazers.
