Cross Country Competes at Golden Bear Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Elms College men's and women's cross country teams were among the teams in the highly competitive field at the 2014 Golden Bear Invitational, hosted at Western New England College Saturday afternoon.

For the women's team, freshman Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) posted the best finish among the Blazers' runner, finishing 24th overall with a time of 20:54. Junior Emma Bernard finished at 117th with a time of 23:54, freshman Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) was 133rd at 24:12, and freshman Caitlyn Hoschtetler came in at 140th with a time of 24:21.

On the men's side, the Blazers finished 18th as a team. Junior Adam Kuzdzal (Chicopee, Mass.) registered the top finish for the men's team, finishing 122nd with a time of 32:15. Sophomore Joshua Diaz Rolon (Chicopee, Mass.) was 127th at 32:32, followed by freshman Shinsuke Tanaka at 129th (32:47), Corey Tomson at 140th (33:22), and sophomore David Antwi at 179th (44:22).

The Blazers cross country squads will return to action for the New England Collegiate Conference Championships on November 1st.
