Blazers Cross Country Programs Tough the Heat at 2014 Smith College Invitational.

With temps topping out in the low 90s and high humidity, Elms College, Sophomore Joshua Diaz Rolon led the Blazers men's team with a time of 38:31 on the 8k course. Sophomore Joey Sirois (Easton, MA) and sophomore Luis Brignoni (Springfield, MA) finished second and third for the Blazers

On the men's side, WPI senior Ryan Moran won the race in 28:01 and helped WPI win the men's team competition, with a tie-breaker victory over Coast Guard 28 points to 28 points. Clark University finished in third with a team score of 98

On the women's side, Elms College freshman Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, ME) helped lead the women's cross country program to a 14th place finish at the 2014 Smith College Invitational with a time of 22:10 in the 5k race. Senior Rachel Lehouillier (Belchertown, MA) was a strong second runner for the Blazers finishing in 23:17. Freshman Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, MA) also ran a strong race finishing third for the Blazers.

 Amherst College junior Lexi Sinclair paced the field, winning the race in a time of 19:21 and helping lead Amherst College to the team victory with 42 points. Connecticut College finished second with 84 points and Wellesley College finished third with 100 points.
