Weldon Earns Back-To-Back NECC Pitcher Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior Tom Weldon (Springfield, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week, announced by conference office Monday afternoon.

Weldon was instrumental to the Blazers' 6-2 conference victory over Southern Vermont, holding the Mountaineers to zero earned runs on three hits with eight strikeouts. Tom remains first in the nation in victories, posting a 10-0 regular season mark, while leading the conference in strikeouts (80) and innings pitched (77.1) and ranking third in earned run average (2.33).

Weldon and the Blazers earned the second-seed in the NECC Championship tournament and will face third-seeded Southern Vermont College Friday at 3:00 p.m. at host Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut.
