Men's Soccer Defeats Becker, 3-2
MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS BECKER, 3-2
CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 30, 2006 - Elms College freshman midfielder Ben Masse (Chicopee, MA) netted his first two goals of the season to lead the Blazers to a 3-2 victory over Becker College in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference men's soccer game at Leary Field.
With the win, Elms College snapped a two-game skid improving to 3-5 overall, 2-2 in the NAC. Becker falls to 1-8-2 overall, and 1-2-1 in the NAC.
Junior midfielder Nda Kaslong (Jos, Nigeria) scored the eventual game-winner on a penalty kick at 66:17, breaking a 2-2 tie. The goal was Kaslong's third of the season.
Becker senior Alex Petrie (Sutton, MA) scored the first goal of the contest off a free kick just 2:24 in to the game. Masse responded 35 seconds later with his first goal off a header from freshman Jon D'Amours (Chicopee, MA) to tie the game at 1-1.
Masse recorded his second goal of the game at 19:57 with an unassisted shot in the left corner.
Becker tied the game at 2-2 on a goal from freshman forward Snjezan Telebak (Chicago, IL) at 59:49.
The Blazers return to action Wednesday, October 4 as they host Mount Ida at 4:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
