Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Races at Eagle Invitational

NASHUA, N.H. – Elms College junior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) placed fifth overall and sophomore Rachel Lehouillier (Belchertown, Mass.) finished right behind her in sixth place overall as the Blazers women's team cruised to a third place finish at the Eagle Invitational at Mines Falls Park in Nashua, N.H. The men's team did not register a team score at the meet hosted by Daniel Webster College.

For the women, Rivier College won the team competition with an overall score of 43, followed by New Hampshire Technical Institute (55), Elms (57), Suffolk University (69) and Daniel Webster (118).

Rivier's Christina Dick won the women's 5-kilometer race with a time of 21:34. DeGrazia placed first for Elms and fifth overall with a time of 22:59, followed by Lehouillier (23:15).

On the men's side, New Hampshire Tech earned first place team honors (22), followed by Newbury College (63), Daniel Webster (71) and Rivier (81). The Raiders' Alec Davis earned first place individual honors crossing the line first in a time of 29:41.

Elms' junior Jesse Zina (Ludlow, Mass.) finished the 8-kilometer men's race in a time of 31:42, which was the third fastest time in the field of 42 male runners and places him sixth on the program's top 10 list for any 8-kilometer course. Freshman Adam Kuzdzal (Chicopee, Mass.) was the next Blazers runner (35:03) to cross the line, followed by sophomore Nick Green (Ware, Mass.) with a time of 52:39.

Elms returns to action on Saturday, September 22 at the Blazer Invitational at Chicopee Memorial State Park. The women's race begins at 11:00 a.m. and the men's race begins at 12:00 p.m.
