DeGrazia, Lehouillier and Zina Garner NECC Weekly Honors

ATTELBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore runner Rachel Lehouillier (Belchertown, Mass.), and junior runners Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) and Jesse Zina (Ludlow, Mass.) each earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) weekly honors as announced by the league on Monday.

Lehouillier was named NECC Player of the Week for women’s cross country after clocking a time of 22:54 at the Blazers Invitational which puts her seventh on the Elms course school record list. Lehouillier was the second Blazers’ runner to cross the finish line and second among all NECC runners. This is Lehouillier’s first weekly accolade of the season.

DeGrazia was named NECC Rookie of the Week for women’s cross country and was Elms’ top finisher with a time of 22:38 which lists her fifth on the Elms course school record list. The top NECC finisher at the race, DeGrazia finished 23rd overall en route to her third weekly honor of the season.

On the men’s side, Zina earned NECC Player of the Week honors after setting a new Blazers course school record, notching a time of 32:12 to finish 43rd overall. Zina surpasses Chris Biron whose mark of 32:14 set in 2004 was the previous course record by an Elms runner. This is Zina’s first weekly award of the season.
