HOW IT HAPPENED

Jayden Dow (SPringfield, MA) began in the circle for the Blazers pitching the full 7 inning game letting up only six hits and keeping the Lasers at a standstill of zero runs.

For the first four innings the score remained a couple of goose eggs. Both teams recording quick 1-2-3 innings for the majority of the contest.

Nicole Defeo (Watertown, CT) and Courtney Shwark (Port Ewen, NY) both recorded base hits to the right fielder to slowly fill the bases. Kelsey Bennett (Chicopee, MA) granted a base off of  a walk advancing both Defeo and Shwark to load the bases, optimizing the Blazers scoring opportunity. With two outs and the bases loaded Elms was able to catch some movement as the Lasers short stop recorded the first error for the lasers resulting in two runs crossing home plate. And just like that the Blazers take hold of the lead 2-0 at the top of the fifth inning.

In the top of the final inning with a SAC bunt from Kyla Cook, Defeo was able to advance to second and due to another error the senior from Watertown was able to advance her way to home to score the third and final run of the day.

The Blazers would finish out game one with a 3-0 victory over the Lasers.
