Softball Drops Conference Double Header Against Wildcats

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Softball team were unable to takedown the Johnson & Wales Wildcats on Sunday April 2nd in the Conference double header.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jayden Dow (Springfield, MA) was in the circle for the Blazers in game one of the double header against the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats. The jnior finished the seven innings only giving up 8 hits, 5 runs and recording 2 strikeouts.

The Wildcats were able to score their runs in the first and seventh innings. J. Pulek, C. Amorelli, and H Erickson record runs batted in for the frst inning. In the top of the 7th, J. Rynne was able to single to left field for and RBI and M. Gurska scored the Wildcats final run off of a passed ball error.

The Blazers were able to make connection with the ball with four total team hits in the game against the Wildcats. Unable to send any runners home, Elms fell to a final score of 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Johnson & Wales Wildcats were able to continue their success from the batters box into game two. The team was able to record 22 hits, with H. Erikson and A. Falcigno recording 4 RBI a piece.

Jayden Dow started in the pitcing lanes for the Blazers but was relieved after one inning by Ceara Wright (Chicopee, MA). Wright continued from the circle for 2 innings before Kyla Cook (Taunton, MA) took over for the final two innings.

The Blazers were able to get five hits off against the Wildcats, junior Josie Camaratta (Wolcott, CT) led with 2 hits.

After five innings the Blazers would fall 22-0 in game two against the Johnosn & Wales Wildcats.
