Blazers Lose Two with Mariners

Holyoke, MA -- The Elms College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon with final scores of 5-0 and 6-3 in New England Collegiate Conference action at Mackenzie Stadium.

The Blazers also celebrated the careers of five young men on their senior day. Camden Hart (Leicester, MA), Mickey Howe (South Windsor, CT), Nathan Ayala (Springfield, MA), Mason Scott (Ludlow, MA), and Josh Keaton (Northbridge, MA)  

Game 1 -- Mitchell 5, Elms 0

The Mariners jumped out front with three runs in the fourth. Mitchell pitching was able to keep the Blazer bats silent all game. Elms got a runner to third base with one out following an error, but the Blazers were not able to capitalize, and were kept off of the scoreboard.

 

Game 2 -- Mitchell 6, Elms 3

Elms drew first blood in the second game off a RBI double from AJ Cook (Mendon, MA) and a two RBI single from Seamus Higgins (Rutland, MA), pushing across three runs in the second inning. Mitchell bounced back the next inning with four runs to snatch away the lead. The visitors added two more runs in the fifth inning on their way to the 6-3 win.

The Blazers will travel to Mitchell College on Sunday 5/2 for two more game with the Mariners.
