Stewart Snags Rookie of the Week Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College freshman Dakota Stewart (Victoria, Texas) has been selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. This is the third time this season Stewart has been tabbed as the top rookie of the week.

Stewart continued her impressive freshman campaign, posting a pair of double-doubles, totaling 71 assists with 38 digs, eight service aces and seven kills. During a four-set win over Eastern Nazarene, Stewart dished out 37 assists with 18 digs, a career-high six aces and five kills. In a four-set battle with Westfield State, Stewart tallied 34 assists with a career-high 20 digs, two aces and two kills.

Stewart and the Blazers will return to the court with an NECC road trip to Newbury Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. match.
