Women’s Swimming Falls to UMass-Dartmouth, 174-96

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) won three events but the Blazers fell to UMass-Dartmouth, 174-96 in Saturday afternoon's dual meet in North Dartmouth, Mass.

With the loss, Elms moves to 1-6 overall, while UMass-Dartmouth improves to 1-4 on the season.

DeGrazia powered to winning times in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.37), the 100-yard freestyle (56.06) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:39.68).

Freshman Abigail Will (Hopkinton, Mass.) won the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 29.82 and finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.64) and third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.22.

Freshman Sarah Swart (Willington, Conn.) clocked a time of 29.86 in the 50-yard freestyle, while senior Kelly Gilhooly (Bloomfield, Conn.) tabbed third place honors in the 100-yard backstroke (1:15.55).

The relay tandem of DeGrazia, Swart, junior Erika Aponte (Palmer, Mass.) and Will won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.97.

The Blazers return to action on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7-8 at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship hosted by Simmons College.
