Women’s Swimming Falls to Gordon College, Simmons College

WENHAM, Mass. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle, but the Blazers fell to Gordon College, 143-108 and Simmons College, 185-69 in Saturday afternoon's swim meet at Bennett Arena in Wenham, Mass.

With the losses, Elms moves to 0-2 overall, Simmons improves to 2-0 and Gordon moves to 1-1 overall.

DeGrazia clocked a winning time of 2:02.45 in the 200-yard freestyle and followed that with a mark of 56.68 in the 100-yard freestyle. She added a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:38.65).

Freshman Abigail Will (Hopkinton, Mass.) won the 50-yard butterfly (29.73) and registered third place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:08.73.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of DeGrazia, freshman Sarah Swart (Willington, Conn.), senior Kelly Glhooly (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Will placed third in the event with a time of 1:54.78.

Elms is back in action on Saturday, November 9 when it hosts St. Joseph College (Maine) at 1:00 p.m. at Partyka Natatorium.
