Cousar Nabs NECC Rookie Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College freshman DeAngelo Cousar (Bowie, Md.) has been selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. This is the second time this season that Cousar has taken home Rookie of the Week honors.

Cousar averaged 11.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in three games for the Blazers last week. Cousar netted 12 points and three rebounds against Fitchburg State, followed by a double-double effort of 14 points and 12 rebounds in their NECC opener at Wheelock. Cousar added eight points and eight rebounds in the Blazers 82-77 NECC victory at Mitchell.

Cousar and the Blazers will be back on the court Saturday afternoon when they host Wheelock in NECC action at Picknelly Arena at 2:00 p.m.
