Baseball Championship Update

Following several game postponements due to weather, the NECC baseball regular season is not yet complete leaving seeding for the upcoming championship undetermined.

Elms and Southern Vermont have one regular season game remaining to be played. The game is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 30th. Location and game time are subject to field availability. With rain in the forecast, it is very likely that the game will be postponed until Thursday or possibly Friday. Please check the NECC schedule often until a set location and game time are determined before making plans to attend.

The host for the upcoming NECC Baseball Championship has been determined.  Mitchell has earned the top seed posting a 12-6 conference mark in regular season play and will host the upcoming tournament tentatively scheduled to begin Friday. The start of the tournament is dependent on completion of regular season play.

The Mariners defeated second place Becker (12-6 NECC) twice in their three game series to earn the tiebreak. Lesley (9-9 NECC) has earned a berth but their seed is yet to be determined.

The final spot will go to either Southern Vermont or Elms.

If Southern Vermont defeats Elms in the final regular season game, the Mountaineers will finish 9-9 and earn a berth in the tournament as the third seed ahead of Lesley whom they beat two out of three times this season.

If Elms defeats Southern Vermont, the Blazers will finish 8-10 and earn a berth in the tournamet as the fourth seed. Elms will hold the tiebreaker over Southern Vermont who would also be 8-10. Lesley (9-9 NECC) will be the third seed.
