Jaden’s Two Goals Send Blazers Past Bulldogs

Frankiln, MA The Elms College men's soccer team won 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Dean College. The win pushes the Blazers to 3-10-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Babba Jaden (Clarkston, GA) had a huge day, scoring a pair of goals, helping the Blazers post a crucial win over Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.

The win for Elms was massive as it pushes them up the conference standings and gives them the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs as the two teams jockey for postseason tournament playoff positioning.

Elms got on the board when Alex Eagan (Watertown, MA) connected with Jaden for his ninth marker of the season at 16:32. The Blazers would hold onto the slim 1-0 lead, Dean would have a pair of scoring chances go by the wayside. First, a penalty kick was turned aside by a sprawling Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) in the 25th minute, and then a Dean shot would bang off the crossbar in the 31st minute.

The Bulldogs would break through in the 46th minute for the game, grabbing the tying goal just 39 seconds into the second half. Elms jumped back in front when Jose Ulloa (Stamford, CT) converted a penalty kick at 52:05 for his third score of the year.

The Blazers would get a very important insurance goal at the 55:12 mark when the connection of Egan and Jaden hooked up again for Jaden's second of the day.

Dean made the game interesting when the Bulldogs slipped a shot past Liedke at 87:51 to cut the deficit to one. It would be too little too late, and the Blazers would hold on and pick up the much needed result.

Elms is back in action on Sunday 10/27 at 12PM when they travel to Becker College for another big NECC game.
