How it happened
On the road at Johnson and Wales, Elms looked to capture their first conference win of the season. The Wildcats went on a run early on in the game, eventually taking a double digit lead. Aaron Sanchez and Kishaun Cole both scored and made some defensive stops to get the Blazers back in the game. However, the Wildcats were too much for Elms, going on another scoring run while limiting Elms on the offensive end. The Blazers went on a major scoring drought late in the first half, but a couple of baskets by Cole and Tahquell Cadle sent them into halftime down 38-20.
In the second half, Johnson and Wales continued to score effectively, going ahead by 32 points early. Stifled by the Wildcats defense, the Blazers struggled to score, and many players shot inefficiently. This helped the Wildcats continue to build their lead, which they never let up. The Blazers fought hard until the end, but ultimately fell 78-42.
