Women’s Volleyball Splits Final Two Matches Of Blazer Invitational

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College Women's Volleyball team split two matches on Saturday, beating Suny Cobleskill 3-0 in their first match and losing to Oswego Sate 3-1 in the second match.

The Blazers started the day off with a convincing win over Suny Cobleskill 25-22, 25-14, 25-19.

Elms would once again get contributions from multiple players. The Blazers would have 11 different people record a kill in the match. Alanys Crus (Humacao, P.R) would lead the way with 12 kills on 26 attempts for a .308%. Govanna Rosado (Humacao, P.R) would pick up a match high 21 assists for the Blazers. Kiana Lozada (Bayamon, P.R.) was the team leader in digs with 21, Hannah Adams (Deerfield, MA) and Alanys Cruz (Humacao, P.R) would pitch in 11 and 10 digs respectively.

Elms would end up with 14 different players collecting at least one point.

 

The Blazers would face a tough test in their second match of the day in Oswego State, and end up losing the match 17-25, 7-25, 25-23, 18-25.

Elms would have a tough time getting it going offensively and would end up with team kill percentage of .049%.  Dakota Stewart (Victoria, TX) would lead the way in assists with 17, the Blazers would have 10 different players record a dig with Kianna Lozada (Bayamon, P.R.) leading the way with 15.

The Blazers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Western New England University on Wednesday 9/15 at 7:00PM.
