Blazers Split Double-Header Against Dean College
WESTFIELD, MA. – The Elms College softball team splits their conference doubleheader Monday against Dean College 11-5 and 10-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1: Elms 11, Dean 5
The Blazers claimed an 11-5 victory on Monday, despite a big push by Dean College in the third inning.
Elms College Blazers secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. Josie Cammarata (Wolcutt, CT), Courtney Schwark (Kinston, NY), Ryanne Fournier (Longmeadow, Mass.), Kelsey Bennett (Chicopee, MA), Sarah Roussis (East Canaan, CT), and Nicole DeFeo (Watertown, CT) powered the big inning with RBIs.
The Blazers fired up the offense in the first inning when an error scored one run for Elms.
Jayden Dow (Springfield, MA) led the Blazers to victory on the rubber. Dow allowed eight hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three.
Elms College Blazers had ten hits in the game. Fournier, Schwark, and Brandi Johnson (Philmont, NY) each racked up multiple hits for Elms College Blazers. Fournier went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Elms College Blazers in hits.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Cammarata, Schwark, Fournier, Bennett, Roussis, and DeFeo all earned RBIs in the first game.
-Fournier, Schwark, and Johnson each racked up multiple hits in the first game.
-Fournier went 3 for 3 at the plate during game one.
- Alleano, Samson, and Bennett all earned RBIs during the second game.
- Alleano hit a triple in game two.
