CHICOPEE, MA - Elms College Women's Volleyball split the conference tri-match on their senior day, with a 3-0 victory over Dean College and falling 0-3 to Regis College.

BASICS

Score: Bulldogs 0 | Blazers 3

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the opening set the Blazers made sure to put the pressure on as they kept the score within a point for the majority of the match. The Blazers were able to cause a script change as they took the lead after tying the set up at 14's. With a kill from Victoria Solis and a couple attack errors on the Bulldogs end helped the Blazers surge to 25. The Blazers were able to take the first match point, 25-17 for the final score.

The Blazers continued their aggressive offensive push into the second set eliminating any chance for the Bulldogs to see a match point.

In the final set, Dean stayed one step behind the Blazers. Despite the constant pressure being applied by the Bulldogs, the Blazers were able to take the final match point  to close out the match in straight sets.

Victoria Solis (Springfield, MA) recorded 7 kills

Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, NM) handed out 21 assists

Alyssa Moore (Ludlow, MA) had 19 digs

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the first and third set of the match the Regis Pride left the Blazers with no room for error. After multiple point runs to build up a comfortable lead, the Blazers could only manage runs of two points to slowly chip away at the difference. The first set was closed out 16-25 and finished the match 19-25.

The Blazers turned up the heat in the middle set, causing a lead change early. Both teams danced around each other, with constant lead changes and tie ups. It wasn't until late in the set were the pride able to get that two point lead to secure the match. The second set landed in extra points with a final score of 24-26.

Holman registered another career double-double with 12 assists and 15 digs

Moore bumped up 15 digs in the match
