The Simmons Sharks did not miss a beat in the first set as they built up a tremendous lead after going on a 9-0 point run to go up 10-2 in the match. The Blazers were able to take on 8 points in the first set falling to a score of 8-25, Sharks taking the first match point of the night.
In the second set the Sharks again grabbed an early lead over the Blazers. With the score 7-13, the Blazers were not settling. Kills across Elms' line up helped them to chip away at the Sharks lead.
