Blazers Split Conference Tri-Match
NORWICH, VT - Elms College Women's Volleyball split the conference tri-match, falling 1-3 to Emmanuel College followed by a 3-0 victory over Norwich University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Elms Women's Volleyball team allowed the Saints to tie at 3's to start off the conference match. But never let them see a chance at taking the lead for the rest of the first set. The Blazers would secure the first set with a score of 25-19 for the final score, leading 1-0 in the match.
The second set looked promising for the Blazers as they had possession of the lead for the majority of the set. It wasn't until the Saints challenged them late in the set jumping into the lead after tying the set at 19's. Emmanuel would keep the match alive recording a consecutive five points to take the second set, 19-25 over the Blazers tying the match 1-1.
In the final two sets the Blazers could not get back into their groove and the Saints capitalized, serging to 25 with ease. The Blazers fell 14-25 in the third set and 17-25 in the fourth.

Samiyah Cabrera (Springfield, MA) secured another career double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs
Senior Alyssa Moore (Ludlow, MA) registered 35 digs
Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, NM) handed out 33 assists

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening set the Blazers made sure to put the pressure on as they kept the score within a point for the majority of the match. The Blazers were able to cause a script change as they took the lead after tying the set up at 23's. With a kill from Alysha Izquierdo and a service ace from Jaylen Holman the Blazers were able to take the first match point, 25-23 for the final score.
The Blazers continued their aggressive offensive push into the second and third set eliminating any chance for the cadets to see a match point. Elms' Volleyball went 25-14 in the second set and 25-15 in the third to end the day 1-1 in the conference tri-match.
