Blazers Drop Tri-Match in Straight Sets

BOSTON, MA - The Blazers went 0-2 in Saturday's tri-match against the Wentworth Leopards and the WPI Goats.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the second and third sets the lead had changed hands multiple times in the Blazers favor. But with the Goats scoring consitent points they denied the Blazers any chance of obtaining a match point.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Senior Alyssa Moore (Ludlow, MA) registered 15 digs against the goats 

Samiyah Cabraro (Springfied, MA) dished out 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .219

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blazers kicked off the point scoring in the first set, never allowing the Leopards get a step ahead of them. It wasn't until a four point streak from WIT to cause a lead change deciding the first sets fate. Wentworth recording their first match point of the evening with 18-25 win.

WIT took the second set, 24-26 for the final. Elms trailed behind for half of the set till Angelica Marks () ran an eight point serving streak to bump the Blazers ahead of the Leopards, 19-15. Unable to hold the lead the Blazers surrendered the second set to Wentworth, gifting them a 0-2 lead on the match. 

The Leopards would seel the match win after the third set.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Jaylin Holman (Las Cruces, NM) handed out 12 assists against the Leopards.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5th the Blazers will head to UMASS - Dartmouth to compete against the Crucaders at 6PM.
