Oliver Named Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College Athletic Department has announced Stephanie Oliver as its new head coach for Women's Volleyball.

Oliver comes from a strong coaching/playing background. Coached at Iowa Central Community College as Interim Head Volleyball Head. First year coaching for Iowa Central had a 32-19 overall record, finished as Region XI Champions and took the Tritions to a 9th place finish in NJCAA National Championship games back in 2014-2015. Taking the school to its 3rd national tournament in 2 years. Oliver was also named coach of the year for District C NJCAA.

"The Elms College Blazer Athletic Family is very excited about having Stephanie on board as our Women's Volleyball Coach," commented Director of Athletics, Dr. Michael Theulen. "Her impressive background in volleyball and in strength and conditioning is second only to her STUDENT-athlete centered philosophy and her energy. She will have an immediate, positive impact on Elms College."

In addition, Oliver has coached at Brighton High School as the Head Volleyball Coach. Taking the Bull-dogs to a 31-9 overall finish of the season, taking 2nd place in the Region Tournament. Oliver has also coached at Legacy both 18 Nationals and 13-14 National teams.

Oliver had this about joining the Blazers, "I'm looking to bring back a strong group of ladies who will be a force in the new conference. I am excited to coach this talented team and to see what the season holds for us!"

Oliver was the Libero at Rochester College and Williston State College. At WSC, Oliver was nominated on the All-Region Team, Volleyball Nebraska All-Tournament Team. At Rochester College, Oliver was named Libero of the Year, NAIA All-American, USCAA First Team All-American, NAIA top 5 finish for most digs, Academic All-American, All Conference Team for NAIA.

Previously to Elms, Oliver worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Michigan Elite Conditioning for Athletes. Oliver worked with professional athletes/celebrities/college athletes and high school athletes. Professional athletes such as Matt Sokol, Jared Davis, Danny Amendola, Kelly Stafford and many others.

Graduated from Rochester College B.A. Business Management; Logan University M.S. Sports Performance & Rehabilitation

Certifications: Olympic Weightlifting Level 1, Kilo Program Design Advance Programing/Sports Specific Programming, PICP Level 1, Posture Pro Certified, First Aid/CPR, ACE-CPT, CSCS

Coach Oliver is married to Matthew Oliver and has two twins, Kodi & Easton and two dogs Hank & Jack. Currently resides in Burlington, MA (but moving to Agawam).
