Swimming Finishes the Regular Season with a Loss to Regis

WESTON, MA - The Elms College Women's Swimming team visited the Pride of Regis College in conference action Saturday morning.

BASICS

Score: Elms College 87 | Regis College 131

HOW IT HAPPENED

Graduate student DeAngela Fobbs (Bowie, MD) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (26.57) and 50-yard butterfly (28.02) and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.82).

First-year Megan Baio (East Bridgewater, MA) finished first in the 400-yard individual medley (5:51.24) and third in the 50-yard backstroke (35.51).

First-year Rayne Wheeler (Big Piney, WY) placed first in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.93).

Sophomore Joni McGillis (Katy, TX) would place second in the 50-yard butterfly (30.34) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:13.32).

First-year Evelyn Pohlman (Northbridge, MA) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:21.60).

First-year Sasha Plotniak (South Hadley, MA) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (6:14.27).

In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Fobbs, McGillis, Wheeler, and first-year Desiree Espinoza (Los Angeles, CA) took home first place with a combined time of 2:09.36.

"The swimmer of the meet was Rayne. Out of nowhere she went the third fastest 100 free time for our team. Next stop GNACs. Go Blazers!"

UP NEXT: The next stop for the Women's Swim team will be the GNAC Championships at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) from Friday, Feb. 2nd until Sunday, Feb. 4th.
