Fobbs Sets Three Records at Regis Invitational

WESTON, MA - The Elms College Women's and Men's Swimming teams were welcomed at the Regis College Invitational Friday and Saturday. DeAngela Fobbs (Bowie, MD) had an outstanding performance Friday breaking the Regis College pool record in the 50 yard Fly, as well as breaking the school record at Elms for both the 50 yard and 100 yard fly.

Blazers' grad student DeAngela Fobbs opened up the invitation making a splash as she set three new records in two different events. In the ninth event of the meet Fobbs finished the 100 Yard Fly with a time of 1:00:06, breaking the previous school record at Elms of 1:04:48 set in 2020 by Brittney North. As the meet continued on Friday the grad student from Bowie, MD swam a 26.86 50 Yard Fly breaking her own record at Elms and the Regis College pool record.

Fobbs placed first in all three of her events on Friday afternoon and continued her success within the lanes on Saturday with two mre first place finishes within the freestyle events.

Sophomore Joni McGillis (Katy, TX) made three second place finishes on the meet Friday in the Women's 100 Fly, 50 Fly, and 50 Free. McGillis continued recording points for the Blazers as she took home two more second place finishes in the 100 and 200 Yard Free.

The meet this past weekend was not scored, but you can see all the Blazers times in each event from the invitational by clicking on the results linked above or by viewing the box score.

Blazers will be back in action following the holiday break on Saturday January 13th against the Western New England Golden Bears.
