Women’s Soccer Drops Road Game at Rivier

Nashua, NH – The Elms College Women's soccer team dropped a road conference game at Rivier University on Wednesday night.

BASICS

Score: Blazers 0 - Raiders 2

Records:  Blazers (4-3) (3-2 GNAC) | Raiders (6-1-0) (6-0-0 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Blazers started out strong, almost finding the back of the net in the opening minutes. Elms would have several chances to open the scoring, but several near misses and a couple big saves from the Raiders keeper kept the visitors off the board. Rivier's best chance of the first half came in the 86th minute, but a goal line save from Senior Audri Cope (Ludlow, MA) sent the game into the half tied up at 0-0.

The Raiders took advantage of two Blazer miscues and jumped out to a 2-0 lead scoring in the 50th and 55th minute. Elms had several chances to cut the deficit, but were unable to find the back of the net.

  INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • McDonough (3 SH))
  • Basua (2 SH, 2 SOG)
  • Liquori (6 saves)

FROM THE DESK OF COACH MILBIER:
" I thought we got off to a great start, had a ton of energy and some great looks at their goal. Unfortunately, a couple of mistakes in bad areas of the field led to us giving up two goals. We'll work hard to address those issues and start getting ready for Saturday's match."

UP NEXT:

The Blazers will travel to Lasell University on Saturday 9/23 at 3PM..
