Blazers Tame Bulldogs in GNAC Action

Franklin, MA – The Elms College Women's Soccer team picked up a road conference win at Dean College on Thursday afternoon. It was the first road win of the season for the Blazers who now sit at 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the GNAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Blazers got off to a fast start firing off several shots in the opening minutes of the game. A couple of near misses and saves by the Bulldogs keeper kept it scoreless. Elms dominated possession in the first half and it paid off in the 28th minute. Sophomore Jamie McDonough (Dedham, MA) beat the oncoming keeper into the back of the net for the lone goal of the game. Junior Kelly Malheiro (Long Island, N.Y.) set up the chance with a pass that split a couple of Dean defenders.

Elms picked up where the left off in the second half, peppering the Dean goal, but were unable to extend the lead.

The Bulldogs had a late chance near the end of regulation but could not convert as Senior Hailey Magierowski (Brimfield, MA) made a game saving tackle inside the 18-yard box.

" Road conference games are always difficult, especially the midweek games. Our players were very focused and put out a full 90-minute effort. We have a lot of players giving us big minutes, today was a true team win."
