New London, NH - The Elms College women's soccer team finished its regular season with a 0-0 draw at Colby-Sawyer on Sunday afternoon. The Blazers will now wait and see who their 1st round matchup will be in the GNAC tournament.
THE BASICS:

RECORDS: Elms (9-6-3, 7-4-2 GNAC), Colb-Sawyer (4-9-1, 4-7-1 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Blazers offense dominated the first half, putting up five total shots to the Chargers two. The visitor's best chance came in the 32nd minute when Taylor Floser (Millbury, MA) ripped a shot from 24 yards out off the crossbar.
Eight minutes into the second half the Blazers nearly found the game's first goal, Kayla Pasquel (North Attleboro) dribbled past two Colby-Sawyer defenders and hit a shot low to the left corner of the net, the Chargers keeper would come up big and make the stop. The rest of the half saw back and forth action with no real scoring chances, sending the game into OT.
Both overtime periods were quiet as neither team found the back of the net and ultimately settled for the 0-0 draw.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Pasquel lead the Blazers in shots on goal with 4
- Elms outshot the Chargers 9 – 5 and held a 5– 1 advantage in corners
- Angela Picheo (Wood-Ridge, NJ) made 3 saves in the shutout

"Back to back games are always tough. When its two road conference games, and both are on a difficult grass surface it becomes that much harder. We would clearly have wanted to come out of the weekend with two wins, but a win and tie while not conceding a goal is a solid performance. Now we wait and see how the rest of the conference play shakes out. We're excited to see who we get in the first round of the tourney."
