Foucault’s Late Goal Pushes Blazers Past Simmons

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College women's soccer team picked up another
GNAC win on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers defeated Simmons University 1-0 on Leary Field.

THE BASICS:

RECORDS: Elms (4-4-1, 3-3 GNAC) | Simmons (1-7, 1-3 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Blazers controlled the action in the first half. The home side fired off 12 shots and had 5 corner kick opportunities. The visitors were able to keep Elms off the scoreboard, sending the game into the break tied 0-0.

The Blazers continued to dominate play in the second frame, but were unable to find the back of the net. After a scoreless 76 minutes, Morgan Foucault (Putnam, CT) received a perfect pass from Cassidy Langevin (Enfield, CT) and Hannah Duggan (Palmer, MA) finding herself inside the 18 with the ball on her foot. Foucault placed a perfect shot into the right corner of the net giving the Blazers a 1-0 lead. The home side held off a late surge by Simmons, and took the game 1-0.
