Boston, MA – The Elms College women's team came up short in a 2-1 loss at Emmanuel College in GNAC play.
THE BASICS

RECORDS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Saints outshot the Blazers by a 9-4 margin in the opening stanza but sophomore Angela Picheo (Wood Ridge, N.J.) kept the home side off the board.
- The Blazers had several chances to open the scoring but were unable to find the finishing touch.
- Emmanuel opened the scoring in the in the 61st minute. The home side doubled their lead just 4 minutes later. (2-0)
- Elms cut the deficit in half with 4:09 remaining in regulation as Morgan Foucault (Putnam, Conn.) fed Elaina Vilar (Watertown, CT) for her third score of the year, making it a 2-1 contest.
- Emmanuel was able to keep Elms at bay over the final minutes of action to hold on for the 2-1 GNAC victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Saints finished the afternoon with a 14-11 edge in shots and owned a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
- The Blazers controlled play in the second half, outshooting the Saints 7-5.
