Women’s Lacrosse Loses to Norwich in a Tough Conference Matchup

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team hosted Norwich University in conference action at Leary Field Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Norwich would start the game with two goals, but Elms would respond with back-to-back goals by sophomore Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, NY) to put Elms on the board. The Cadets would respond later in the quarter extending their lead 1-4. Norwich would then go on to score four unanswered goals in the second quarter, extending their lead 1-8 going into the halftime break.

The Cadets would continue their momentum by scoring three-straight goals to start the third quarter. The Blazers would get back on the board with back-to-back goals by junior Greta Frankwicz (Cape Elizabeth, ME). Norwich would score additional three goals to close out the quarter. Elms would start the fourth quarter with an up-goal by senior Elise Paier (West Springfield, MA), but the Cadets would score two more goals to secure the conference victory over the Blazers, 4-16.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Senior Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, MA) would record 15 saves in the contest.

UP NEXT: The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team will travel to Regis College on Saturday, April 6th in a conference matchup at 1 PM.
