HOW IT HAPPENED

On Saturday, April 29th the Women's Lacrosse Blazers matched up on the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Quarterfinals play.

The field tilted in the Wildcats favor early in the contest after they took off with a 4-0 point run in the first five minutes of the game.

Senior Talor Borla and Anna-Elise Pikul did not let the lead deter them from striding hard and fast toward the Wildcats cage. The two Blazer Captains single handedly revived the lightning with a 4 point comeback within two minutes of play to tie up the game. At the end of the first quarter the Blazers trailed only by two goals, 6-4.

For the continuation of the game the Blazers were able to sneak in a goal in each of the remaining quarters. Pikul finished the game with a hattrick and Borla ripped two in the back of the Wildcats net.

The JWU Wildcats T. Gamory recorded a double hatty with K. Sloan followed closely behind with five goals.

Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, MA) stayed in the net for the full 60 minutes with 14 saves in the final game of the season.
