Liquori Denies Monks 14 Shots on Net in First Half of the Conference Match Up

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team fell after a hard fought battle against conference team the Saint Joseph's College of Maine Monks. Junior goalkeeper, Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, MA) recorded 19 saves, with 14 of them in the first half.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior Gianna Liquori ended the game on Saturday recording her 100th career save after an outstanding performancing inside the crease against the Saint Joseph's College of Maine Monks. The goalie from East Longmeadow, MA held her own and recorded 14 saves in just the 30 minutes of play. 

Ciersten Palumbo was able to send one passed the Monks goalie to kick off the game 1-0 in just over a minute into the game. Palumbo would finish out the game with a hattrick.

Taylor Borla (Southington, CT) would finish out the conference match with a hattrick,1 assist, 3 groundballs, and 6 draw controls filling out the stat sheet for the day.

First year Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, NY) would lead the Blazers in groundballs with eight on the day against the Monks.

for the second quarter both teams would hold the other to only 2 goals each to end the first half with a score of 6-3 with the Blazers trailing. Decpite how the Blazers grit on the field they were unable to overcome the Monks falling to a final score of 18-7.
