How It Happened

The Blazers conquered the Lasers with a 13 point win this past Saturday.  The game opened up with a goal by Anna-Elise Pikul (Belchertown, MA) who put up 4 goals and 10 draw controls for Elms.  The lead was taken by the Blazers early and grew throughout the 60 minutes.

The Blazers took off early and kept going, Taylor Borla (Southington, CT) left the Laser's defense guessing with her 4 Goals and 2 Assists.  First year Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, NY) also got in on the action with a shooting percentage of 60%, getting her a hat trick during the contest.  Everyone else joined in on the cellebrations with two other hat tricks by Elise Paier (West Springfield, MA) and Greta Frankwicz (Cape Elizabeth, ME). Elms left Grellier Field netting just over half the shots taken.  Ciersten Palumbo (Holbrook, NY) also came up with 2 Goals of her own and an assist on the rainy Saturday.

Offense isn't the only thing the Blazers were able to connect on.  The Blazers defense locked down the Lasers with 6 CT and 19 ground balls.  Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, MA) barred up the cage saving 9 of the 16 shots the Lasers had to offer.  Elms was able to contain the 8 for the full 60 leaving the Laser's with no answer offensively.

Able to seize the rainy day victory, the Blazer secured their first conference win against the Laser's 20-7 on Saturday afternoon with composure and poise.
