Borla Ripped The Twine Against Bulldogs With 5 Goals In Conference Match Up

FRANKLIN, MA - The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team came up short to the Dean College Bulldogs on Thursday night, senior attack Taylor Borla (Southington, CT) sent five goals in the back of their net leading for the Blazers.

How it Happened

Borla was able to fire off 10 shots against the Bulldogs, dropping her stick for five of them. Senior Anna- Elise Pikul (Belchertown, MA) registered three of the thirteen goals by the Blazers, followed by first year Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, NY) who managed two goals and three assists against Dean College.

The Blazers spread out their goals between the four quarters, hitting the back of the Bulldogs net five time sin the second quarter for their highest scoring fifteen minutes (3, 5, 2, 3). For both teams draw controls and groundballs were and evenly matched stats, with the Bulldogs catching 19 draws followed by the Blazers with 18. With the Blazers also trailing behind by three for ground ball grabs with the Bulldogs chalking up 23 and the Blazers with 21. 

Junior goalkeeper Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, MA) was a powerhouse in the crease denying 22 shots on goal and went 16-22 with succesful clears. Liquori played the full 60 minutes and saw a total of 42 shots against the Bulldogs.

The Blazers fired 42 shots against the Bulldogs, succesfully sending 13 in the back of Deans net. The Blazers fell to a final of 20-13 in the conference match up on Thursday afternoon.
