How it happened:

On Monday night, the Blazers faced the Lions of Emerson College. Elms brought their defense once again in the first quarter, as they kept the game close early. A plethora of Blazers contributed baskets early, including Rahmia Johnston, Jenny Gorski, and Brianna Metellus. Emerson took back the lead towards the end of the quarter, but baskets by Johnston and Jade Lewis gave the Blazers a 20-14 advantage at the end of one. The Lions made a push at the beginning of the second quarter, storming back to take the lead. Elms struggled to make contested shots, resulting in time having to call a pair of timeouts to stop the Emerson scoring run. Talia Uribe and Jade Lewis hit a couple free throws and layups, but Elms had no answer defensively for the Lions offense. Outsourcing the Blazers, Emerson went into half up 39-28.

At the beginning of the third quarter, Julianne Lebow and Metellus went on a 6-0 scoring run themselves to cut into the deficit. After struggling in the opening minutes, Emerson went on another big scoring run, opening the game up. With Elms having a tough time on the offensive end, they couldn't chip into the lead as fast as they wanted. Metellus and Lebow hit a pair of baskets in the fourth to put Elms in striking range, but the Lions went on another run, putting the game away. At the end of the fourth quarter, the Blazers lost 76-58.
